SHOW REVIEW: trinity of terror tour - salt lake city, ut

When the Trinity of Terror Tour got announced, to say that I was excited is probably an understatement. It’s definitely come out to be one of the most iconic tours of 2022 and I’ve been counting down the days until we hit the Utah date. I wasn’t the only one, Utah’s date ended up selling out meaning it was a packed night of 4,600 fans ready for a crazy night.

Lilith Czar opened up the night for the bands, I’ve never seen her live before but I’ve always had the interest to and she didn’t disappoint. Her sound has definitely evolved especially when in 2021 she started going by Lilith Czar but she has definitely achieved the sound of hard rock. What I was amazed with most was how strong her vocals were, they were amazing to the point where if that night there was some type of technical difficulties with the sound she would’ve been fine without. It just added extra volume to it, her performance definitely reminded me of watching The Pretty Reckless or In This Moment. I couldn’t imagine a better opener for all the bands because she managed to perfectly fit the genre and be unique in her own way.

On Utah’s stop the first of the three to kick off the night was Motionless In White. It had been years since I have seen the band before but I knew one thing for sure and it was that despite how long it’s been I knew the energy from both the band and the crowd was going to be just as wild as the last time. Chris Motionless had notified the crowd that he was stepping out on stage and definitely feeling a bit under the weather and was going to need a ton of help from the crowd. Even knowing this, I couldn’t even tell that he was sick in the slightest. I will say that visually their setup was one of the few best I’ve seen so far this year at a concert, while it may have not been much besides what was playing in the background on their massive screen I do applaud the thought into it all. During their set they had two mosh pits going on and they were the biggest ones of the night. On top of that they had people crowd surfing, it was safe to say that there wasn’t a single person in the venue that night that wasn’t standing still and raging hard.

Ice Nine Kills came on next and I was probably most excited for their set, since the release of The Silver Scream the band has been known to put on probably one of the craziest performances. The Silver Scream and The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood are albums inspired and based on horror films, which led to Ice Nine Kills putting on performances with costumes and out of this world visionary. As a big horror fanatic and a big fan of Ice Nine Kills I was definitely excited to capture it all. It was challenging for me to stay focused on photographing and not getting caught up in watching it all, from when they had their stylist come on a Georgie for, IT Is The End to the miner for Take Your Pick, I can’t express enough just how much anyone needs to see Ice Nine Kills live because it’s just an experience like no other and their sound is absolutely phenomenal.

Last on the lineup was Black Veil Brides and fans were buzzing with excitement. It has been years since I had seen the band perform but when they stepped out on stage it felt like there hadn’t been much of a change since the last time I saw them, the thing that I enjoy most from watching their sets is there energy that bounced off one another and never leaving any part of the stage abandoned. No matter who you had your eyes on, one of the members was giving it their all to have a sense of connection with the crowd despite being on the high stage and it really just felt like it was a throwback to the Warped Tour days.

The Trinity of Terror tour will probably go down as one of the best tours of 2022 and memorable for anyone who attends, all the bands put on a performance that kept the whole crowd raving about it in excitement all night long.
