SHOW REVIEW: knocked loose - salt lake city, ut

When A Tear In The Fabric tour got announced, I knew it was going to be an absolutely wild show and definitely not one to miss out on. Fans in Salt Lake were determined to not miss out because within a month of the dates being announced the show was sold out.

It was my first time seeing Koyo live and they became one of my favorites just one song in. Members crowded around the stage and I give major props to one of their few guitarists who stepped out on stage with crutches. Looking out for one another while up there didn’t stop them from rocking out and giving it their all. They definitely achieved their job at warming up the crowd, from the minute they stepped on they called for a mosh pit and had everyone letting loose.

It was another first-timer for me to see Kublai Khan TX, and I knew it was going to be an absolutely wild time, and I had predicted just right. Their set was completely filled with bangers like Resentment and The Hammer. It’s been a while since I had been to a hardcore show and seeing a mosh pit and circle pit get as big as it did and as crazy. I had missed out on the last time that Kublai Khan was in town but Matt Honeycott said that this show was definitely better than last time and so much wilder than the last.

After two heavy sets, everything calmed down for a bit when Movements took the stage, the post-hardcore band got everyone to cluster closer to the stage and it was a big sing-along and just jumping around after all the moshing. We got to hear a variation of songs from their debut album Feel Something like Third Degree and Full Circle and songs from their newest album, No Good Left To Give which was our first time getting to hear the new songs live. The real cherry on top was hearing their newest song, Barbed Wire Body which is a fun dance type of song.

Lastly, Knocked Loose took the stage and when I tell you their entire set was incredible, it honestly is a HUGE understatement. From their red cathedral-like posters and screens, drummer Kevin Kaine sat above, mix all of that with the killer light design that Taylar Glasgow had created. It was enough to give you chills and create further proof that this will go down as one of Knocked Loose’s best sets. With a full eighteen song setlist and Knocked Loose had come out and given fans 100% of their energy and in return, fans did the absolutely same, the energy stayed consistent the entire night.
