SHOW REVIEW: bad luck - salt lake city, ut

Bad Luck has been out on tour with Dollar Signs and Taking Meds, Salt Lake City was lucky enough to get a stop scheduled at Kilby Court, one of the few best small and intimate venues in Utah. However, unfortunately, the night didn’t go as smoothly as people would’ve hoped for. Due to vehicle issues Dollar Signs, Taking Meds, and everyone in Bad Luck besides vocalist and guitarist Dominick Fox and their merch guy wasn’t able to make it to the show. Dominick Fox was determined to at least make it up and give the fans from Salt Lake City a little bit of performance despite everything.

I’ve always been a fan of attending shows at Kilby Court because while the capacity there may not be high and sometimes a view of the stage is a bit of a struggle, shows have always been really intimate and some of my greatest memories of shows have been at Kilby. That night with Bad Luck was probably the most intimate I’ve ever attended. Dominick Fox showed up with just his guitar while everyone else in the band stayed behind to figure out how they were all going to be able to make it to Oregon the next day and he just winged it all by himself. In between tuning his guitar, he offered the floor to all the fans, of which there was only a handful, and we basically got to have a whole Q&A. “Sorry you guys, it’s just me and normally I have a whole bad behind me and we’re all going crazy. Please ask anything you want to know so that I don’t have to feel so awkward up here.”

Fans asked a variety of questions from technical gear about why he chose that specific guitar and quirky personal questions like what is Fox’s favorite color, the answers being, he received it as his first-ever guitar and he’s never had any type of desire to get another one because it’s always done him some justice. Fox’s favorite color is also red. While the night may have not gone how anyone had planned to, Fox still showed up determined to not disappoint fans and he easily accomplished that.
