REVIEW: will you miss me when i'm gone by andrew thomases

The month of September brought plenty of awesome new releases including Andrew Thomases new single ’Will You Miss Me When I’m Gone.’

Thomases grew up in New York City and draws inspiration from his move to San Francisco and his personal experiences.Thomases calls his style “Conscious Rock” and hopes to shed light on the problems that are affecting everyone in the world in this current day and age.

The classic rock single is a call to protect the earth and carries a message about the climate crisis that has been affecting our environment.

The track has a funky 80’s style rhythm and begins with intricate bass tones and fabulous repeating guitar tones. The entire song is filled with classic rock vibes and adds to the statement of the melody.

There we’re many great aspects but I think the part that really shone through and made the song great was the lyrics.

I think it’s very easy to mess up lyrics when writing a song dedicated to a certain cause because it can feel like the lyrics are talking at you and giving too much of an explanation rather than focusing on sounding good and providing a melody.Luckily that was not the case with this track!

‘Will You Miss Me When I’m Gone’ takes a less subtle approach at communicating it’s important themes through it’s lyrics:

‘We must save our only planet’ and ‘Without change we’re gonna destroy it’. Some parts of the lyrics are also written from the perspective of the so called ‘Mother Earth’ which I think added an interesting and more personal impression.

If you like songs that convey a real and important themes then I would recommend checking out Andrew Thomases previous releases!
