Welcome back to the scene, one of our favorite pop-punk bands, Real Friends. The band has made a few changes this year, since the departure of Dan the question was up in the air of who will take over as the vocalist?! Give a big welcome to Cody Muraro a former vocalist for Youth Fountain, with this new change for the band happening, it did raise the question of what will this mean for Real Friends? The band has reassured that change will come but they still remain one of our favorites. On September 17th the band released their new EP, Torn in Two with the new frontman. With an even ten songs, the first half of the EP of complete brand-new songs, the band stuck true to their word, the band continues to stick to their pop punk sound that touch the heart of fans and give so much meaning to others. The last half of the EP is reimagined versions of the same songs, when I first saw this I was definitely thrown off when seeing this, but I was at all opposed once I had heard them. The album has its fair share of pop punk melodies that bring out the angsty and can get you rowdy too. This band has been on quite a journey but this new era of Real Friends is work listening to. Torn in Two gets a solid 8/10.
