REVIEW: maybe i should move to california by righteous punk

Since announcing in August that Righteous Punk, also known as Zach Knell, is releasing an EP coming out on September 3rd, we’ve been patiently waiting for the new music to come. Knell surprised us by releasing a new single this last Friday called, "Maybe I Should Move to California." With this latest pop song released it’s a song that’s perfect to add to a late-night summer drive playlist, the type of song to have on full blast and being surrounded by some of your closest friends in the car.

Despite the upbeat tempo, there’s a deeper meaning in the lyrics that I think we can all relate to and the main statement is in the title of the song- how many of us creatives contemplated and have been told to move out to California, and more specifically Los Angeles to really succeed in a career. There’s no shame in admitting having contemplated it once in our life. In the outro of the song Knell comes to the conclusion he’s just fine where he is at and there’s no need to make a drastic change in their career to succeed.

With that being said, the song is definitely worth giving a listen and following along right behind it Knell’s last single release from the upcoming EP; A Tree, A Punk, 2 Masks, A Dove. With these two singles from Righteous Punk available on all streaming platforms, it gives us fans enough to hang onto till September 3rd.
