REVIEW: bad omens double release

For quite some time we had the single, “The Death of Peace of Mind.” We have been anxiously waiting for more, the single was also a deeper glimpse of what we could possibly expect from the band with the upcoming new album, also titled, The Death of Peace of Mind. The first single had really set in stone what to expect for this new era of Bad Omens, in the beginning half of December we got not one, but two more singles! The band released “Artificial Suicide” and “What do you want from me?” Combined, all three singles are completely different from one another, but it all flows well together, leaving us to wonder how the entire album will sound but there is no doubt that it won’t disappoint. What do you want from me? Is a track that falls a little under djent and a rock-electro sound, what really brings it together is the harmonic vocals. It’s one of my favorite Bad Omens songs. As we roll into Artificial Suicide, it’s on a completely different level, Once hearing it, the single definitely brings you back to their last album, Finding God Before God Finds Me. It’s like a reminder that while “What do you want from me?” may be a tad bit different from before, Bad Omens is still the metalcore band that we know and love with the heavy vocals and killer hooks. The band states, “Making the record changed us as songwriters and musicians. In many ways, I feel like it set me free as an artist because every decision made in the writing process was for myself, with no fear for anyone else’s expectations of what our third album should sound like. Be it our fans or our record label.” The third album is set to release this year on February 25th. With three singles out so far, it leaves us excited for the anticipation for The Death of Peace Of Mind.
