NEW MUSIC FRIDAY (but on sunday): movements and boston manor

HAPPY FRIDAY! The best day of the week just got a little better with three new songs to add to your playlists.

First, SharpTone Record's newest edition, Boston Manor, just released their first single with the record label titled "Carbon Mono." The five-piece band also released a music video to accompany the single.

"Carbon Mono" is a heavy-hitting song with an explosive chorus that's begging to be played live. Though the song is a follow-up to their album Glue(2020), the sound feels reminiscent of something from their 2018 album, Welcome to the Neighbourhood. It’s got the gritty anthemic emo mood with distorted guitars and dynamic vocals. The lyrics explore "people’s unwillingness to change and acknowledge our own shortcomings," said Boston Manor's frontman, Henry Cox. This band's electrifying sound will be absolutely crazy during their upcoming tour.

Coming off of their sophomore album No Good Left to Give(2020), Movements released two B-side tracks, titled "No Silhouette" and "Panic." In a tweet, the band describes the two songs one's they didn't feel were quite right for NGLTG, but that they wanted fans to hear anyway.

Exploring topics of loss and anxiety is nothing new for this Fearless Records four-piece and, as usual, they delivered some bangers.

"No Silhouette" is a melodic and upbeat song about what it's like to watch someone you love lose someone and vowing to be there with them through it all. While "Panic" chronicles the daily struggle of anxiety and how disruptive it can be. The contrast between the crushing weight of the lyricism and the beautiful instrumentals creates the masterpiece that can only belong to Movements. Stream the B-sides here, and catch Movements on tour with Sad Summer Fest for the rest of the summer.
