SHOW REVIEW: my chemical romance - inglewood, ca

I think I speak for everyone when I say seeing My Chemical Romance unite and go on tour was a dream come true. When they announced their reunion tour back in 2020, the internet went crazy. But after buying tickets, the pandemic happened, and it wasn’t until October 11th, 2022 that My Chemical Romance would be back in Los Angeles, CA and they were definitely worth the wait. Their openers for this show were Youth Code and Taking Back Sunday. The crowd was very amped and excited, they were jumping, singing along, and just getting ready for My Chemical Romance to hit the stage. Then the lights went out and the crowd erupted with excitement. A dim red light came on and the band started to walk on stage. Gerard walked out last with a flamethrower in his hand and proceeded to light up the stage – literally. Once he put it away, the band proceeded to start with the first song, The Foundations of Decay and the crowd started going crazy and yelling, it was deafening. They then proceeded to play some popular hits such as I’m Not Okay (I Promise), Welcome to the Black Parade, Helena, etc. They played a majority of their songs from their first album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. The crowd was jumping and singing along the entire time. The band’s energy with the crowd was amazing, it was as if they never stopped performing. For the final song, Gerard asked the crowd to light up the place with their phone flashlight, it was amazing to see how many people were there. So many people used their phone flashlights, you could see the band on the stage without any other lighting. They ended the show with Demolition Lovers, it was a bittersweet moment knowing the show was coming to an end. They definitely put on an amazing show, the band was energetic, interacting with the fans, and overall seemed to genuinely enjoy playing in front of crowds again. This tour is so unique as well because it seems as though each night is dedicated to a different album of theirs. This was a great way for them to come back to Los Angeles, and they still had 4 more shows in LA after this one. This tour is definitely not one to miss out on!
