REVIEW: fall to the beast by the atomic beau project

Australian-based band The Atomic Beau Project released their new song “Fall To The Beast” and it is a force to be reckoned with. Immediately punching in with rapid firing guitar parts and double-time drum grooves, it sets the stage for the lyrical content about depersonalisation and derealisation, which is something vocalist Beau struggles with. Her soft vocal melodies are drawn out and flow on top of the chaotic instrumentals, and it makes you feel like the song is either going too fast or too slow, depending on which part your brain focuses on; it feels like that was intentional to create a sense of what this disorder feels like and sonically capture that. The contrasting parts work well together and Beau does a great job with describing this internal fight she has and with raising awareness about it. If you love eerie-sounding progressive metal music, definitely give this song a listen!
